Bill Foster, starting at a young age, studied piano for thirteen years, planning to be a concert pianist. That was not to be. However, Bill has used his talent, as an occasional hobby, to entertain folks on keyboards in Michigan , Arizona , California , Maine , Massachusetts and New Hampshire , as a solo performer.
Bill's music is geared primarily to the “baby boomers”. His musical range of songs also appeals to ‘seasoned citizens'. He offers his services, for a fee, to Independent Living Retirement Communities all over New England . He has now added a unique twist to his presentation, which is rare in entertainment today.
Following this text is a “play list” of 133 different songs. Bill allows the residents of the community where he is going to appear to “pre-select” twenty-two tunes that they would like to hear. (Twenty-two is about all that can fit into a recital hour.) He then plays, nothing but the requests, during that appearance. In this manner, the residents of the community get to hear the songs they most love and enjoy. This ‘pre-selection' has been an extremely popular concept.
You will see from the list, in alpha order, that these are the “standards” of bygone decades. Even though some song titles may not be instantly recognizable, we can assure you that if you are over 50, you have heard every single one of them. (You probably know most of the words to many of them!)
